Exceptionally good message!! I love the analogy with the time you were a junior Dr. It makes the case very succinctly as to why 'get out of jail clauses' are an open invitation to abuse.

"There was the existence of that escape clause and infinite plasticity in its interpretation as to what constituted necessity."

The full bench of theAustralian High Court has ruled that an implied right to 'Political Communication' exists under the Constitution. If the Govt and its arms (Universities, Think Tanks etc) are now the arbiters of truth, then is every opposing view of any Govt policy simply 'Political Communication'? This could be the loop hole.

Pill getting blacker and blacker. What does the average person do about it? Don’t say that we are too powerless - we are not, we just need to discover our role in the asymmetric warfare we will need to wage to hold onto the best of what we have. We can’t stop the machine but we can aspire to live in parallel and preserve a future for our children. You should be writing about this every time you talk about blackening the pill from now on - as should every other writer who gets the moment we’re in. We are wasting time just diagnosing the problem!

The underlying philosophy behind the concepts of 'misinformation' and 'disinformation' and the need for technocrats to regulate it can be distilled into a single assertion: you cannot be trusted with your own mind. The total failure of every element of the mid-wit authoritarians' response to the 'one-in-a-hundred-year pandemic' will not deter them from attempting to delineate truth itself to the bovine masses.
